Profiling your PL/SQL for Performance and Debugging - Lewis Cunningham

Learn about DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO and CLIENT_ID. We'll cover what DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO is and how to use it. As a bonus, we will also discuss Hotsos ILO, the open-source Instrumention Library for Oracle. It's hard to tune a PL/SQL program if you don't know where it has issues. A profiler can also help debugging when you have logic errors. DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO and ILO can make your life easier.
