Troy's Tuning Tips - Troy Ligon

This month's topic will be "Troy's Tuning Tips" presented by SOUG President Troy Ligon. Troy has been focused on a very elusive performance problem for the past several months and as a side effect, he has developed a few interesting tidbits that he thought he would share with the group. It is a miscellaneous collection of items that you might find useful. The only thing they all have in common is that they are all somehow related to performance tuning. As time allows, he'll talk about Execution Plans, Histograms, Child Cursors, Automatic Memory Management, and SqlPlus startup issues.

With over 30 years of IT experience (25 of that as an Oracle DBA), Troy has travelled extensively, serving a variety of customers primarily in the Public Sector, Manufacturing, and Financial Services sectors. In addition to being a long-standing leader in our local SOUG, Troy is also active in the IOUG, including serving as a track manager on their Collaborate conference committee for the last several years.
