Intro to Oracle Golden Gate - Michael Wells, Raymond James

Oracle GoldenGate is one of the leading tools for cross-platform replication, but its uses go well beyond that. In the few years since Oracle acquired GoldenGate, they have invested a lot in the platform and have made numerous enhancements, especially when using GoldenGate with Oracle Databases. This discussion will cover the basics of what Oracle GoldenGate is, how it works, and how to implement and maintain it. We'll also cover some best practices that have been learned over years of working with the product.

Michael Wells is a Database Administrator with Raymond James Financial and is part of the team responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing Oracle GoldenGate on Windows and Linux. He has been working with GoldenGate 10.0 and above and presented on Real-World Operational Reporting with Oracle GoldenGate at the 2012 Oracle OpenWorld conference.
