March 28, 2017 This month our very own Maksym Satula will be presenting on Oracle RAC 12.2. His presentation describes how to build a fully functional 2-node Oracle 12.2 Real Application Cluster on VirtualBox from scratch in 90 minutes. You may want to build a fresh cluster many times, perhaps making some parameter changes between iterations, so the goal is to make the build process fully unattended. To achieve this, our approach will not use any of the Oracle GUI interfaces and endless Next->Next->Finish clicks those require. Instead, Maks will present a way to perform the build with a script. This script will create VMs of proper shapes, install Oracle Enterprise Linux on them, and install and configure Oracle RAC, all in one shot. We will examine the script, as well as discuss some caveats and secret sauce. Maksym Satula is currently a DBA for Soft Computer Systems where he has worked since coming to the US in 2011. He has been in the IT field since 1999 and has been working with Oracle since 2001. Max has his OCP in 10g and 11g and joined the SOUG Board in 2014.
